For twenty years, I am coordinating the activities of the association ATELIER- Wools of Europe.
I organise training courses,
set up new exhibitions and I am in charge of the European relations: institutions,
companies, schools....
The association
“ ATELIER - Laines d’Europe “ was founded in 1989 with the aim
of developing cooperation between people wishing to promote and upgrade wool as
a natural material and to make it once again an element of local development.
The members of ATELIER are
breeders, shearers, small enterprises, craft-workers, artists and textile
museums, associations, pedagogical farms, scientists and historians.
The members of ATELIER
respect a Charter. The commit themselves to:
·
Use local raw materials
·
Progress towards the full mastery of the production
·
Set up a network of mutual aid
·
Promote products by using a quality label
·
No individual taking part in the processing of an ATELIER product must be subjected to any exploitation whatsoever.
Activities: documentation
centre, training courses about wool, travelling exhibition, European meetings
ATELIER maintains the
co-ordination, the exchanges between all new projects for wool upgrading.
To set up a common
promotional programme, to learn from the experience of one to another, to
demonstrate to the authorities the economic and social importance of these
initiatives.
